LT-MC303 Motion Platform
Labtronic offers the motion platform module, an excellent tool for introducing and exploring the principles of rotational dynamics. It is ideal for demonstrating real-world control challenges found in the guidance and control of ocean-going vessels, aircraft, submarines, and satellite navigation systems. The spin/stabilize platform features a rotating disk mounted within a frame, driven by a DC motor around its center. This setup allows users to study the dynamics of rotational motion and control, providing valuable insights into practical applications involving stabilization and navigation in complex systems.
Learning Objectives:
- Learning the modeling of first-principles derivation.
- Visualizing observer design control.
- Visualizing PID control.
- Learning the modeling of transfer function representation.
- Helps trainers understand rotational dynamics principles.
- Demonstrates real-world control challenges, such as those in navigation and guidance.
- Consists of a rotating disk mounted inside a frame, driven by a DC motor.
- Mounted on a rotary servo base unit that allows rotation in the horizontal plane.
- Includes a two-plate structure for manual rotation relative to a solid surface.
- Encoders measure the frame’s rotation and tilt angle of the disk.
- Inner frame holds the rotating disk connected to the outer frame via two shafts.
- A gear mechanism connects one end shaft to an encoder, measuring the tilt angle of the disk.
- Trainer features a linear voltage amplifier for Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) experiments.
- The amplifier can drive actuators and connect easily via terminal boards and cables.
